Job summary

Heerema Marine Contractors is seeking a Procurement Specialist for Vessels & Equipment to source materials, spare parts, and services for our offshore fleet. You will combine commercial insight with technical understanding to secure best value and support safe operations.

Based in Leiden, you will work with Technical Superintendents and other internal stakeholders, create and manage POs in SAP, and drive cost saving while maintaining continuity of operations.

Qualifications

• Vocational degree or equivalent working and thinking level.
• Minimum 5 years in technical, industrial, maritime, or offshore environments.
• Procurement qualifications such as NEVI.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes.
• Experience with contract preparation and commercial terms & conditions.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication, written and spoken.
• Team-oriented, persistent, and solution-driven attitude.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and processing daily procurement requests.
• Identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers.
• Negotiating contracts and fixed-price agreements for recurring purchases.
• Consolidating long-tail spend and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Conducting market research and supplier analyses.
• Creating and managing Purchase Orders in SAP.
• Monitoring supplier performance and delivery reliability.
• Analyzing procurement data and providing up-to-date market, vendor, and product insights.
• Ensuring purchases are made on the best commercial and contractual terms while maintaining continuity of operations.
