Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking an Offshore Integrity Supervisor to lead asset integrity activities, including insulation, spool replacement, and welding, with emphasis on safety and efficient offshore execution. The role interfaces with Maintenance and Asset Integrity teams for brownfield projects and shutdowns.

The candidate will manage vendors, supervise painting and scaffold activities, and ensure compliance with PWIs, JSA, and risk assessments, while coordinating with project engineers offshore.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification with 10+ years in production facilities.
  • Experience in FPSOs, piping inspection/construction, asset integrity.
  • Knowledge of welding, painting, scaffolding, spool replacement, PFP and insulation.
  • Experience with shutdowns and major unit projects.
  • Strong planning, scheduling and cost awareness.
  • Significant piping materials/corrosion background in NDT.

Responsibilities

  • Lead welding, painting, scaffolding, construction activities and vendors’ teams.
  • Ensure installations follow Task Risk Assessments and Permits to Work.
  • Coordinate offshore planning and execution for brownfield work.
  • Identify issues, escalate when needed, and support WPO issuance.
  • Maintain safety culture and training with HSE advisor support.
  • Approve work orders and close completed tasks with discipline.
  • Ensure efficient activity timing and offshore coordination.

Job description

The Offshore Integrity Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and has a technical/operational alignment with the Asset Integrity Construction team. The role is responsible for executing the painting program, spool replacements, repairs on piping and structure, removal and installation of insulation, and removal and installation of PFP. The Offshore Integrity Supervisor also supports asset upgrade activities (brownfield projects) and shutdown activities, leads vendors, and participates in planning and execution activities.

Accountable For: Responsibilities & Standards
Implementation of Management System
  • Promote safety awareness and broad application of the Management System, codes of practice, and prime policies.
Management of Personnel
  • Demonstrate leadership and exercise the role of company representative onboard.
  • Liaise effectively with all relevant onshore and offshore departments.
Control of Works
  • Lead welding, painting, scaffolding, construction activities, and vendors’ teams.
  • Ensure installations are performed efficiently in accordance with the approved Task Risk Assessment and Permit To Work.
  • Ensure a smooth synchronization of activities, eliminating occurrence of symptoms.
  • Identify technical issues and escalation them as appropriate to ensure early resolution and facilitate execution.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the Installation Work Package issuance.
  • Identify systems to be offline when a spool replacement is required for the planning schedule to be divided by packages and to capture unforeseen opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication and clarify grey zones with the Project Engineer / Offshore Superintendent when things are not clear in task plans.
  • Approve WO requests and control backlog, being responsible for the closing of all executed WO from the discipline.
  • Be accountable for planning and execution, maintaining or reducing duration of activities.
  • Run risk assessments and toolbox talks, ensuring different departments work together to ensure safety and efficiency during execution of task plans.
  • Cascade the safety rules and ensure that the rules are understood and applied by the team.
  • Anticipate the necessary safety training for the team and report needs to the HSE advisor.
  • Supported by the HSE advisor, continually maintain a high level of awareness on HSE topics and procedures amongst the team via training and awareness sessions.

  • Carry out Emergency Response role (see Station Bill).

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline, or a technical qualification potentially acceptable with proven experience of more than 10 years with production facilities.
  • Experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, ideally FPSOs, piping inspection/construction, and asset integrity.
  • Technical knowledge of construction activities such as welding, painting, scaffolding, spool replacement, PFP, and insulation.
  • Experience in shutdowns and major unit projects.
  • Planning and scheduling knowledge.
  • Experience in non-destructive inspection with a significant piping materials/corrosion background.
  • Good sense of economics and good analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum of B1 level according to the CEFR international standard.
  • Medically fit according to the Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore.
