Job summary

Amazon Customs and Trade EU SARL, Dutch Branch, is seeking a Manager for NL Customs Brokerage to own risk management, compliance operations, and performance across NL clearance networks for ocean, air, rail and road shipments. This role combines frontline execution with strategic leadership to shape automation and regulatory change management.

You will interact with Dutch authorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and mentor customs operators in Prague and China, driving country performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience engaging with regulatory agencies in permit applications or equivalent.
• Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization without direct reporting relationships.
• Speak, write and read fluently in Dutch.
• Proven progressive experience in NL customs brokerage, compliance, audit, or risk management, with at least leadership or strategic role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk management frameworks for NL customs brokerage activities.
• Serve as licensed contact with Dutch customs authorities, managing regulatory queries, document inspections, and compliance escalations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate changes into procedures and scalable solutions.
• Lead holistic operational excellence programmes linking policies, SOPs, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting.
• Own the strategic roadmap for NL customs brokerage and identify projects delivering competitive advantage.
• Drive automation of manual customs and logistics processes with technology teams; design scalable solutions.
• Onboard new business lines (e.g. AWS) into NL customs operation.
• Act as SME supporting expansion of in-house customs model to other European markets.
• Oversee daily customs clearance performance and SLA adherence across transport modes.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, tariff classification integrity, and risk management reporting.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with sellers, vendors, brokers, and internal teams.
• Provide regular leadership insights on risk posture and mitigation.
