Job summary

DENSO Europe is seeking a New Product R&D Engineer to drive research and development for aftermarket electrification products. You will develop and expand the product lineup in line with the e-mobility shift and coordinate with global teams.

You will lead NPI processes, evaluate new technologies, and prepare detailed technical reports for stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years in new product development, R&D, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of electrification tech (CASE) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for electrification products.
• Ability to perform research and document results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development for electrification mobility products.
• Identify new technologies and assess market fit for Aftermarket lines.
• Coordinate with HQ in Japan and local R&D to explore opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Management to align activities with strategy.
• Support product lifecycle from concept to launch (NPI).
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Job Description

As New Product R&D Engineer, you take over an active role in new product development plan for aftermarket in line with the e-mobility shift and assure new product lineup range development & expansion in coherence with DENSO Europe Aftermarket strategy.

• Conduct thorough research and development activities focused on Electrification mobility products and services, as well as other new product categories related to automotive aftermarket business.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends in the industry for potential integration into the Aftermarket product lines.
• Maintain strong communication with headquarters in Japan and local R&D Engineering offices to explore new opportunities for Aftermarket and share insights.
• Monitor and analyze market and competitor trends and conduct benchmark activities to determine and inform product development needs and strategies for Aftermarket.
• Collaborate with Aftermarket Product Management to align research activities in line with company-wide strategic goals and objectives.
• Support the development and implementation of new products, ensuring they meet customer demands and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and technical documents to stakeholders, such as Product Management, Quality Assurance, Sales and Marketing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and workgroups to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and product to Aftermarket business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in new product development, R&D, or a related technical role.
• Strong technical knowledge of new automotive technologies (such as CASE), working experiences with electrification in the Automotive area of advantage.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards related to Electrification and other new product categories.
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive research and development activities.
• Experience in using external catalog systems and managing data efficiently via DX (digitalization) tools.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with international teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
• Proficiency in technical writing and presenting complex information clearly.
