Job summary

Thales Hengelo is seeking a Software Platform Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile team. You will help develop and test infrastructure software platforms for combat and sensor systems, with a focus on Linux, networking, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master in computer science, IT service management, or equivalent.
Experience with Linux (e.g. Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
Experience with network technologies (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, FASTPATH, IOS).
Experience with software development (e.g. Python, Bash, C, C++, Java).
Experience with Git-based source control; CI tooling (Jenkins); infrastructure as code (Ansible); container tech (Podman/Docker).
Preferably experience with Agile methodologies, including Jira.
Fluency in English for technical and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

Work in a multidisciplinary Agile team to develop and test IT infrastructure software platforms.
Develop and test platform software for naval combat and sensor systems.
Contribute to requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, and validation.
Collaborate with diverse teams and continuously explore new technologies.
