Job summary

West Ottawa Middle Schools is seeking a Middle School Boys Dive (Swim) Coach. The role requires diving coaching knowledge, CPR/AED certification, and CAP concussion protocol compliance. The coach must be available after school and on Saturdays to support practices, games, and conditioning sessions.

The position reports to the Athletic Director and Varsity Swim Coach and is responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and promoting academic excellence among athletes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of diving coaching preferred.
• CPR/AED, CAP Certified Concussion Protocol.
• Must be available after school and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Attend athletic department meetings when scheduled.
• Submit annual inventory of uniforms and equipment.
• Maintain professional competency by attending clinics.
• Keep Athletic Director informed of issues before, during, or after events.
• Encourage athletes to excel academically.
• Submit End of Season Checklist on time.
• Issue, clean, store, and return all athletic equipment.
• Oversee safety conditions during practice.
• Enforce discipline and fair play; report incidents to AD.
• Build positive relationships with players, parents, and administrators.
• Attend practices, games, and meetings on time.
• Use professional conduct with players, officials, and fans.
• Manage player eligibility information with the athletic director.
• Teach skills for peak achievement in the sport.
• Plan each practice session ahead of time.
• Submit rosters and forms signed by parents.
• Be a positive role model.
