Job summary

DEPT is seeking a Mid-level Motion Designer & Editor to turn ideas into engaging visual stories for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook. You’ll work independently on most projects while collaborating with designers, strategists, copywriters, and account managers.

You’ll contribute from concept to final execution, refining motion systems, editing for engagement, and ensuring consistency with client brand guidelines across diverse campaigns.

Qualifications

• Experience as a motion designer with an art direction mindset.
• Proficiency in After Effects and Premiere.
• Strong sense of timing, framing, and storytelling.
• Curiosity around AI tools and learning how they can support creative work.
• Keep up with social media trends and apply relevant editing techniques.

Responsibilities

This position sits in our Creation & Marketing service based in Skopje. We combine data, technology, creative content, and paid media to crack brands’ business problems & drive revenue through a variety of digital marketing solutions. Our clients include eBay, Zalando, Merck, Palfinger or Brother.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Mid-level Motion Designer & Editor, you turn ideas into engaging visual stories through motion, editing, and animation. You're passionate about timing, pacing, composition, and craft, and know how to create work that captures attention and communicates clearly. From developing motion systems to refining edits and polishing the final output, you're involved at every stage of the process, from early thinking to final execution.

You would be responsible for creating engaging video content that helps brands stand out on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. At this level, you're expected to work independently on most projects while collaborating closely with designers, strategists, copywriters, and account managers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Shape the visual and motion direction of projects from concept to delivery;
• Edit short-form and long-form high quality videos across social media campaigns and formats;
• Create motion graphics, animated text, transitions, and visual effects;
• Turn static design assets into dynamic animations;
• Ensure videos match each client's brand guidelines and visual identity;
• Add music, sound effects, subtitles, and color correction to improve engagement;
• Optimize edits for platform-specific best practices and trends;
• Define look and feel, styleframes, and motion language for projects;
• Stay curious of new tools, references, and techniques across motion and visual design.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong visual judgement and confidence contributing to concepts and creative direction;
• Experience as a motion designer with an art direction mindset;
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere;
• Solid motion design skills with a good sense of timing, framing, and storytelling;
• Experience creating styleframes, visual systems, and narrative driven motion;
• Improving pacing and editing to maximize viewer retention;
• Curiosity around AI tools and interest in learning how they can support creative work;
• Keeping up with social media trends and incorporating relevant editing techniques;
• A strong portfolio or showreel showing concept, craft, and high quality motion work;
• Located and directly available to start working from our Skopje offices;
• Full working proficiency in the English language.
