Job description

Some screens are sixteen by nine. Others are thirty metres wide and wrap around a room. We're looking for someone who can make a brand's story move on both - and everything in between, of course.

As our 3D Motion Designer, you'll turn brand stories into motion that lives inside physical space — for stages, screens and installations most designers never get near. Day to day, you will:

  • Concept and design screen content that carries a brand's story into physical space-built for the room it lives in, not just the frame.
  • Create 3D scenes and motion graphics tailored to client needs, from a standard 16:9 frame to a 30-metre LED wall.
  • Develop complete 3D motion sequences, carrying a project from pre-production through to final render.
  • Transform static designs into dynamic animations and motion explorations.
  • Build, assemble, edit and deliver timelines-from short motion pieces to long, immersive shows.
  • Design digital layouts and interfaces for our interactive installations.
  • Collaborate on projects centred on immersive experiences, bringing your 3D and motion work into multi-sensory, spatial storytelling beyond the screen.
  • Work closely with designers, concept artists and producers to keep every piece aligned with the bigger picture.
  • Communicate directly with clients - walking them through creative choices and keeping them confidently in the loop from concept to delivery.
  • Refine and optimize your work based on feedback, platform and format.
Your profile

You live and breathe design, with a sharp eye for detail and the instincts to back it up. You move easily across motion design, digital design and video editing, and you take real ownership of what you make.

TECHNICALLY, YOU BRING:

  • Confidence in Cinema4D (Redshift) and/or Blender (Cycles) for 3D work.
  • Fluency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop for motion and compositing.
  • A solid grasp of animation principles-timing, easing, pacing, camera movement.
  • Proven experience with generative AI tools, used to sharpen your process rather than replace your judgement.
  • A working curiosity about media servers, LED processors, playback systems and multi-screen sync-not to fix them, but to understand how they expand what your designs can do.
  • Big plus: Figma, DaVinci Resolve, Illustrator, Houdini or Unreal Engine.

AND YOU'RE PROBABLY SOMEONE WHO:

  • Notices the detail everyone else scrolls past.
  • Takes ownership of a project from brief to final render.
  • Explains ideas clearly, whether to a fellow designer or a client.
  • Treats feedback as fuel, not friction-happy to give it and take it.
  • Stays curious about new tools and trends (and goes looking for them).
  • Gets a kick out of knowing how a design will actually live on hardware, not just on a timeline.
Why us?

At TSC, motion isn't a finishing touch - it's how our stories learn to breathe. This isn't content that lives on a webpage. It's content people walk up to. You'll work on stages, showrooms and screens across every industry we touch, moving from a quick client edit one week to a thirty-metre canvas the next. No two briefs look the same, and that's exactly the point.

You'll sit inside a Design Studio that trusts its people to have opinions, and gives them the room to try things that haven't been tried before. Senior designers are close by when you need them, and further than that when you don't. What you learn here compounds - tool by tool, project by project, show by show.

We don't build brands. We build the worlds people step into and remember. Come help us make the next one worth entering.

About us

The Storytelling Company is more than 180 people across Amsterdam, Zwaag, Berlin, Munich, and Charlotte.
We bring strategy, design, and technology together into experiences people can walk into, for global clients wherever they and their audiences are. A brand's experience center. A maritime simulator, accurate down to the last real parameter. An opera, an exhibition, a pop-up that wasn't there yesterday. Original worlds made to travel from one city to the next. Different scales, different briefs, one question underneath each of them: what does it feel like when this truly lands?
We work in close partnership with our clients and treat every project with the same care, for the people it reaches, the brands behind it, and the world around it. From the first idea to the last farewell note.
If any of that sounds like your kind of place, we'd like to meet you.
