TNO offers an internship opportunity to design, train and evaluate a conditional generative model for intraday prices as part of energy market research. You will work with a multidisciplinary team at the interface of machine learning, electricity markets and energy system modeling.

The role involves building datasets, deriving features, implementing models and benchmarking against baselines, with the aim of delivering clear technical conclusions and recommendations while expanding your own

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in machine learning, esp. generative or probabilistic models.
• Strong Python skills and experience with a deep learning framework.

Responsabilités

• Design, train and evaluate a conditional generative model for intraday prices or day-ahead to intraday spreads.
• Build dataset from historical market and system data.
• Derive conditioning features with an energy system model.
• Benchmark architectures against baselines.
• Evaluate with proper scoring rules and test generalisation.
