Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mineral Processing Engineer to optimize metallurgical recovery and efficiency in the Welkom area, focusing on grinding, flotation, leaching, and other processing steps. You will design, operate and troubleshoot circuits while collaborating with plant personnel to maximize recovery and reduce costs.

The role requires a strong background in metallurgical engineering and software such as METSIM or HSC Chemistry, plus data analysis and process control experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing, particularly in gold or platinum group metals.
• Strong understanding of physical and chemical separation processes.
• Proficiency in metallurgical simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry).
• Experience with process control systems and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a plant environment.

Responsibilities
