Royal IHC in Kinderdijk is seeking a Mechanical Mining Engineer to shape early‑stage designs of mechanical systems for mining solutions and to drive feasibility studies.

You will design and model in 3D CAD, perform calculations, prepare drawings, support construction and testing, and collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Competenze

• Higher professional education in mechanical engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; Solid Edge and Teamcenter preferred.
• Affinity with sustainable technology and international projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
• Residence in the Netherlands or valid EU work permit.

Your job

As a Mechanical Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems for our mining solutions. You have a passion for early-stage design and shape innovative concepts through brainstorming and feasibility studies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and modelling mechanical products and systems in 3D CAD.
• Performing technical calculations and selecting appropriate materials.
• Preparing specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Supporting the construction, assembly, and testing of installations.
• Collaborating with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements:

• A higher professional education in mechanical engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (proficient/expert user of Solid Edge and Teamcenter is preferable).
• Affinity with sustainable technology and international projects.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch (both orally and in writing).

• You are living in the Netherlands or you have a valid EU work permit.

• Gross monthly salary depending on relevant working experience between € 4.000 and +€ 6.000 (plus 8% holiday allowance)

About IHC Mining

At IHC Mining, we develop (innovative) solutions and equipment across dry‑to‑wet mining, underwater remote mining, deep‑sea mining, and urban mining. Supporting customers throughout the entire mining cycle is a core part of our work — from early‑phase project evaluation studies, through engineering, delivery, and after‑sales support, all the way to mine closure. In addition, we support tailings removal and re‑handling where secondary mineral recovery is required.
