Job summary

EPAM Systems in Germany, the Netherlands or the UK is hiring a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer. You will design, build and run enterprise-grade data and analytics solutions using Fabric and Power BI, collaborating remotely and on-site.

You connect target architectures to production-ready solutions, automate deployments, and ensure high engineering standards while working with solution architects, client IT and data teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering, BI development, or data platform delivery.
• ≥1 year Microsoft Fabric experience with a production project.
• 2+ years Power BI development including semantic modeling and DAX.
• Strong SQL (T-SQL) and Python/PySpark knowledge.
• Experience with Azure data services (ADF, ADLS Gen2, Synapse or Databricks).
• Understanding of data warehousing and lakehouse concepts.
• English (B2+) and German (B1+) communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions based on approved architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse and pipelines.
• Build medallion architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with incremental loads and error handling.
• Set up ingestion from SQL databases, APIs, files, SAP and streaming sources.
• Write clean, reusable code in PySpark, Spark SQL, T-SQL and KQL; optimize Delta tables.
• Add data quality checks, logging and alerting to pipelines.
• Build enterprise semantic models using Direct Lake, Import or DirectQuery as specified.
• Write efficient DAX measures and Power Query transformations.
• Build reports and dashboards following design guidelines and best practices.
• Implement row-level and object-level security and workspace permissions.
