Job summary

Applied Materials is expanding its Delft facility and is looking for an experienced Lab Engineer to take ownership of day-to-day laboratory operations. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring the lab runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, with hands-on lab work and support to engineering activities.

You will work to keep the lab and cleanroom ready, support facility coordination, and ensure uptime of critical systems. Collaboration with engineers, scientists, and facilities teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a laboratory, cleanroom, pilot production, or technical operations environment.
• Hands-on technical background with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting equipment, infrastructure, or facility systems.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of operational topics.
• Technical education (MBO+, HBO, or equivalent through experience).

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day lab and cleanroom operations run smoothly and predictably.
• Maintain lab organization, tooling, consumables, and operational readiness.
• Support installation, setup, and commissioning of lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain uptime of lab systems and tools.
• Perform and support hands-on lab work, experiments, and engineering activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and cleanroom practices.
