Job summary

Usono is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for medical software. You will work with developers and AI teams to automate testing of web applications, back-end APIs, and Python AI components, ensuring robust, compliant releases.

You will write executable specifications (Gherkin) and build CI-integrated test suites using Playwright, TypeScript, and Vitest, contributing to quality in a regulated MedTech environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software testing with a strong automation component.
• Experience testing APIs and working with Git-based workflows and CI pipelines.
• Strong test design skills to turn ambiguous requirements into sharp scenarios.
• Experience testing ML/AI systems or scientific code.
• Documentation discipline and precision.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Author and review executable specifications (Gherkin) with developers and product owners.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated system test suites (Playwright + Cucumber, TypeScript) for web apps and backend APIs.
• Build and maintain test harnesses for Python AI components and regression testing against datasets.
• Design and curate test data, including anonymized and synthetic medical imaging data (DICOM).
• Extend test layers: unit tests, component/interaction tests, API tests, and post-deploy smoke tests.
• Integrate and maintain testing in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Perform exploratory testing and turn findings into automated coverage.
• Document verification evidence and contribute to risk-based test prioritization.
