Job summary

Science & Technology Corporation seeks a Medior FPGA Engineer in Delft to join the Defence & Security team. You will develop onboard processing, contribute to firmware lifecycles, and work with Systems Architects and Electronics Engineers to deliver high-performance, space-grade solutions.

You will implement radiation-tolerant FPGA firmware, high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, SpaceFibre, PCIe), and ML-on-FPGA workloads while collaborating across disciplines to ensure reliability in demanding

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of dedicated FPGA engineering experience.
• Strong VHDL and FPGA-based digital design experience.
• Strong SystemVerilog testbench design experience.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Questa for simulation/verification.
• Experience with AMD and/or Microchip FPGA technologies.
• Knowledge of radiation effects and mitigation for space FPGAs.
• Experience implementing CAN, PCIe and Ethernet interfaces.
• Knowledge of SpaceWire and SpaceFibre.

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify and qualify radiation-tolerant FPGA firmware for spacecraft.
• Implement and integrate high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, SpaceFibre, PCIe).
• Design and optimize 100+ Gbps data-routing architectures with fault tolerance.
• Review PCB schematics and provide FPGA input to Electronics Design team.
• Develop and optimize FPGA interfaces for machine-learning workloads.
