AtS[&]T is seeking an FPGA Engineer in the Hague area to contribute to the development of advanced medical imaging components. You will work in a high‑tech environment, designing FPGA architectures and integrating imaging electronics with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FPGA development tools and workflows.
• Experience with VHDL and MATLAB in hardware projects.
• Strong English language skills; medical imaging domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA architectures and code to prototype, test, and validate digital functions for ASIC integration.
• Maintain and enhance existing FPGA implementations.
• Design and develop ultra-high-density interconnect PCB layouts.
• Integrate imaging components and electronics into customer systems.
• Implement and optimize signal processing and beamforming algorithms.
• Set up, verify, and validate lab test environments for R&D and production.
• Coordinate with customers on interfaces, requirements, and system integration.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test plans.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and external partners.

Weare currently looking for an FPGAEngineerto join theteamin the Hague Area.

As a Hardware Application Engineer, you will be joining a high-tech team that designs and builds highly specialized miniaturized medical imaging components used in advanced diagnostic procedures. These devices combine precision engineering, sophisticated acoustics, and complex electronics to support exceptionally accurate internal imaging.

As part of this environment, you’ll contribute to the development and integration of next-generation medical imaging solutions, working with multidisciplinary teams and state-of-the-art technology platforms.

• Develop FPGA architectures and code to prototype, test, and validate digital functions that will be integrated into custom ASICs
• Maintain and enhance existing FPGA implementations
• Design and develop advanced, ultra-high-density interconnect (uHDI) PCB layouts
• Integrate imaging components and electronics into customer systems
• Implement and optimize signal processing and beamforming algorithms
• Set up, verify, and validate laboratory test environments for both R&D and production
• Conduct system-level, software, and hardware testing and validation
• Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test plans
• Coordinate with customers on interfacing, integration, and system requirements
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in R&D, production, and external partners

Requirements

Knowledge of:

• FPGA development tools and workflows
• VHDL, MATLAB, and related programming environments
• Electronics and PCB design principles
• Medical imaging or ultrasound principles (advantage)
• Relevant industry standards and compliance guidelines (such as IEC 13485) (advantage)
• Embedded programming (advantage)
• Strong proficiency in English
