Job summary

NTS is offering a hands-on internship for a Mechanical Engineering student in our high-tech environment. You will work on developing next-generation fiber collimator designs, analyze test results, and collaborate with experienced optical and mechanical engineers.

You will apply structured problem solving, create detailed designs with NX CAD, and, if time allows, assist with manufacturing and prototype build. We provide mentorship and a real contribution to an existing product.

Qualifications

• Declared interest in solving technical problems.
• Structured and analytical work style.
• Experience with CAD programs, preferably NX.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the current design and test results.
• Investigate technical challenges and improvement opportunities.
• Apply structured problem-solving methods; develop and evaluate new mechanical concepts.
• Transfer concept into a detailed design (drawings) and collaborate with optical/mechanical engineers.
• If time permits: support manufacturing and build of a prototype; set up validation plan.
