Job summary

NTS Optel in Nijmegen invites a Master or Bachelor student in Applied Physics to join as an internship/assignment focused on interferometric focus sensing. Work spans literature study, performance analysis, design improvements, and prototype testing beyond the lab.

You will contribute to developing an automated focus sensor for microscopic systems, with guidance and a dynamic, hands-on environment at an international optics-focused group.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor student in Applied Physics (university level).
• Affinity with optics.

Responsibilities

• Literature study on interferometric focus sensing.
• Performance analysis of the current lab setup and comparison to alternatives.
• Design improvements and system redesign to work outside the lab.
• Prototype build if time permits.
• Experimentally verify the performance of the developed solution.
