Job summary

Sonion invites you to join their Hoofddorp team as an Internship Mechanical Engineer starting February 2027. You’ll work on designing housings and plastic components, create tooling, and print prototypes using a range of CAD and prototyping methods.

The role suits students in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Product Design, with SolidWorks experience and motivation to own responsibilities. Internship includes a monthly stipend, workspace, and parking near Hoofddorp station.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for an engineering degree (Industrial Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or similar).
• Fluent in English, written and spoken; Dutch is a plus.
• CAD experience; SolidWorks is the primary package, training available for other CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design housings and other plastic components in CAD.
• Test and develop tooling.
• 3D print prototypes and tooling.
• Help develop prototyping processes (lasering, 3D printing, proto-injection molding).
