Job summary

Amaris Consulting in Groningen, Netherlands is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of appliances from concept through mass production. You will design, test, and document mechanical modules and components, collaborating with systems engineers, designers, and manufacturing specialists.

The role requires a 3–5 year track record in mass-produced mechanical design, proficiency in Siemens NX/CREO, and hands-on leadership with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical product development for mass production.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX and/or CREO).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design in plastics and metals, including mass manufacturability.
• Experience with CFD analysis, FEA (Ansys), and analytical software.
• Skilled in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Design for Six Sigma (Green Belt is a plus).
• Hands-on, proactive team player with strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing and detailing mechanical components and systems, conducting predictive analysis and calculations.
• Selecting materials and processes for metal and plastic parts.
• Creating and managing 3D/2D files with manufacturability and assembly in mind.
• Leading DFMEA activities and following the v-model methodology.
• Prototyping, testing, and analyzing data to validate designs.
• Developing test methods and tools with technical architects.
• Managing product requirements and Windchill documentation.
• Leading ideation sessions and driving concept creation.
• Interfacing with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
• Identifying process improvements and sharing knowledge within the group.
