Job summary

Bayards Helidecks in Tholen, Netherlands, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop 3D models and shop drawings for international helidecks projects. You will work independently within project teams, maintaining close contact with internal departments, suppliers, and development partners from concept to production.

The role requires a technical Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering) and at least 5 years of experience, with proven Tekla/Trimble skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proven experience with Tekla/Trimble modelling software.
• Background in complex steel construction (e.g., bridge construction or unique structures) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models and shop drawings for international customer projects.
• Work independently within project teams and coordinate with internal departments, suppliers and development partners.
• From concept to production, safeguard the technical integrity of our helidecks.
• Translate customer requirements into 3D models and BOMs.
• Document technical information for production and service.
• Review specifications and determine required modifications to project components.
• Coordinate progress with colleagues, suppliers, and development partners.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose improvement initiatives.
• Report on progress and project-related matters.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for designing and developing 3D models and shop drawings for our international customer projects. You work independently within project teams and maintain close contact with internal departments, suppliers, and development partners. You are involved from concept to production and play an important role in safeguarding the technical integrity of our helidecks. Your responsibilities include:

• Translating customer requirements into 3D models according to established procedures and instructions.
• Developing designs into complete drawing packages and bills of materials.
• Documenting technical information for production and service.
• Reviewing specifications and determining required modifications to project components.
• Coordinating progress with colleagues, suppliers, and development partners.
• Identifying bottlenecks and proposing improvement initiatives.
• Reporting on progress and project related matters.

What do you bring?

We are looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer who thrives on technically challenging projects and enjoys working on unique, complex structures.

• Education: Completed technical Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Software: Proven experience with Tekla/Trimble.
• Background: Experience in complex steel construction (e.g., bridge construction or unique structures) is a strong plus.
• Competencies: Curious, analytical, accurate, communicative, and able to work both independently and within a team.
• Languages: Strong command of English, both spoken and written; Dutch is an advantage.
• Personality: Flexible, responsible, and comfortable working in a project driven environment.
