Job summary

Zero Motorcycles Netherlands is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design and development of powertrain enclosures, HV battery pack mechanical systems, and vehicle structures. You will own technical definitions, drive decisions with sound engineering judgement, and collaborate with management, PM, ID, supply chain, and OEM partners.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical design within motorcycles or e-mobility, advanced SolidWorks skills, and strong BOM/PLM experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of mechanical design in product development, motorcycle/automotive/e-mobility preferred
Advanced SolidWorks proficiency: large assemblies and complex parts
Experience with IP-rated enclosure design and sealing systems
BOM management and PLM workflows (SAP ECTR)

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of complex motorcycle components and systems through all programme phases
Own the technical definition of line items: 3D CAD, drawings, DFMEA, DVP&R, and production release in SAP ECTR
Drive design decisions with engineering judgement and clearly communicate trade-offs
Lead design reviews at programme gates and prepare rigorous review packages
Mentor junior engineers and work across distributed Zero teams in Europe and US
