Job summary

Zero Motorcycles Netherlands seeks a senior Mechanical Design Engineer IV to lead complex mechanical development for powertrain enclosures, HV battery systems, and vehicle structures. You will own technical definitions, drive design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across dispersed teams in English.

This role requires hands-on CAD/FEA expertise, production release experience in SAP ECTR, and a proactive, solution‑minded approach.

Qualifications

7+ years of relevant mechanical design experience in product development, preferably in motorcycles or e-mobility.
Advanced SolidWorks proficiency: complex part modelling, advanced surfacing, large assemblies.
Experience with BOM management, ECO/CR workflows, and document control in a PLM/PDM environment.
Knowledge of HV battery pack mechanical design, enclosure structures, and sealing systems.
Familiarity with relevant safety and homologation standards (UN 38.3, IEC 62619, EU Type Approval).
Strong English communication and ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Leads design and development of complex motorcycle components and systems through all programme phases.
Owns the full technical definition: 3D CAD master models, GD&T drawings, DFMEA facilitation, DVP&R planning, and release in SAP ECTR.
Drives design decisions independently, communicates trade-offs, and leads design reviews.
Coordinates with supply chain and manufacturing for PPAP readiness and BOM accuracy.
Collaborates across geographically distributed teams and mentors junior engineers.
