Job summary

GSM - Green SM Netherlands is seeking a Marketplace Specialist to drive growth across key modules of the Marketplace function. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics or related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in marketplace management or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills with data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx or similar).
• Advanced MS Excel usage; SQL knowledge; basic R and Python.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify growth opportunities.
• Analyze promotion spends using A/B tests for optimization and engagement.
• Study retention and repeating customer behavior to boost engagement.
• Analyze driver behaviour patterns and cohort strategies to reduce churn within budget.
• Monitor competitor promotions and market dynamics to inform GSM decisions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Driver Sourcing, Product/Tech and Marketing to align marketplace initiatives.
• Prepare regular marketplace performance reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Job description

The Marketplace Specialist will be responsible for one or more modules within the Marketplace function at Green SM Netherlands. Marketplace team oversees business operations of the core ride hailing business of Green SM covering planning and execution of promotions, driver payouts, pricing, new features and fraud mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth
• Analyze promotion spends by setting up A/B tests and iterate for continuous improvement in promotion spending and user engagement
• Analyze retention and repeat behaviour patterns of customers and devise strategies incorporating product features to increase engagement over time
• Analyze driver behaviour patterns and come up with strategies for different driver cohorts enabling low churn of driver base and improving performance while staying within spending guardrails as aligned through business plans
• Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions; actively track competition promotions, pricing and product features and suggest counter measures from GSM perspective
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Driver Sourcing, Product/Tech and Marketing to align marketplace initiatives with business objectives
• Prepare regular reports on marketplace performance and present findings to stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics or other related field with 4-5 yrs of experience
• Proven experience in marketplace management or a similar role
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx (any one tool with advanced proficiency)
• Skills required: MS Excel – Advanced, SQL – Intermediate, R, Python – Basic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
