Job description

Imperum & the role

Imperum is building an agentic AI platform for security operations – an autonomous SOC that detects, investigates, contains, and remediates threats with minimal human intervention. We sell to CISOs, Heads of SOC, and security leaders who are tired of alert fatigue and ready to rethink how their operations run.

Marketing Manager

Founding Marketer – Autonomous SOC – Amsterdam or Remote (EU)

What you’ll do
Sharpen the story
  • Own positioning and messaging for Imperum: who we are for, what we replace, and why we win. Test it against real prospects, real analysts, and real losses.
  • Build the core narrative assets: website, pitch deck, one‑pagers, demo scripts, competitive battle cards.
  • Partner closely with the Field CTO and Pre‑Sales on what actually wins deals – then turn that into messaging the whole team uses.
Build the demand engine
  • Run paid and organic campaigns across LinkedIn, Google, and security‑relevant channels. Be honest about what works and kill what doesn’t.
  • Own SEO and content distribution: technical blogs, customer stories, reports, and the kind of writing CISOs actually read.
  • Run our event presence: RSA, Black Hat, regional CISO forums, BSides chapters, and the smaller invite‑only dinners where deals are really made.
  • Build and run ABM campaigns into target accounts in partnership with Sales and Field CTO.
  • Set up and run the marketing stack (CRM, marketing automation, analytics, attribution) without needing a 10‑person ops team behind you.
Make the field team faster
  • Sales enablement: keep messaging, decks, demo scripts, and battle cards current and used.
  • Customer marketing: turn happy customers into case studies, references, and quotes – ethically and with their permission.
  • Analyst and PR relations: brief Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and the security press when it matters. Build long‑term relationships, not just one‑off pitches.
What we’re looking for – Must‑have
  • EU nationality (or existing right to work in the EU without sponsorship). We are not able to sponsor work visas or relocation for this role.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) is a must. It is our working language across content, customers, and async communication.
  • 7+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 4 years in cybersecurity or developer‑tools / infrastructure software. You know how technical buyers actually buy, and you do not write content that talks down to them.
  • Founding‑marketer mindset. You have been the first or second marketing hire at a startup, or you have run marketing single‑handedly for a small team. You are comfortable owning the whole function and shipping the work yourself – not waiting for a team to materialize.
  • Strong writer. You can write a positioning doc, a CISO‑grade blog post, a tight LinkedIn post, and a demo script – all in the same week. We will ask to see recent writing samples.
  • Demand generation chops. You have personally run paid campaigns, set up attribution, and read the numbers honestly. You know what a realistic CAC looks like in security and what a fantasy looks like.
  • Working knowledge of SOC, IR, and the security buyer. You do not need to be an operator, but you must be credible writing and speaking about MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM/EDR/SOAR, alert fatigue, and what a CISO actually worries about at 11 pm.
  • AI‑native operator (this one is non‑negotiable). You don’t just use AI tools – you direct them. You have built or run AI‑powered marketing workflows: agents for research, drafting, repurposing, competitive monitoring, list building, campaign ops, and reporting. You have a clear point of view on where AI multiplies a marketer and where it produces slop, and you can tell the difference at a glance. If your day‑to‑day still depends on a stack of human juniors and agencies, this role is not the right fit.
  • Operator mindset. Comfortable with ambiguity, makes decisions with incomplete information, ships in 5‑day cycles like the rest of the team.
Nice‑to‑have
  • Prior product marketing experience at a security vendor (SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, MDR, hyperautomation, identity).
  • Existing relationships with security analysts (Gartner, Forrester, IDC) and security press.
  • Background in technical content – you have run a blog, podcast, or newsletter that practitioners actually read.
  • Experience launching products and categories – not just adding features to an existing line.
  • Working knowledge of an EU language beyond English (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch).
How we work
  • Small, senior team. AI‑first culture; AI tools are core, not optional.
  • Strict 5‑day idea‑to‑release cycles on the product side. Marketing keeps pace.
  • Marketing partners daily with the Field CTO, Pre‑Sales, and Sales. You are not on an island.
  • Async‑friendly, remote‑first, with regular in‑person time when it matters.
What we offer
  • Compensation package combining competitive base salary, performance bonus tied to pipeline and brand outcomes, and RSUs.
  • A genuinely blank canvas: you set the strategy, pick the tools, and own the function.
  • Top‑tier hardware, generous budget for AI tools, training, conferences, and events.
  • Direct line to the CEO and the rest of the leadership team.
How to apply
  • Send your CV or LinkedIn, two or three writing samples (blog posts, positioning docs, campaigns – redacted is fine), and a short note on three things: (1) the sharpest piece of positioning you ever wrote and why it worked, (2) a campaign that did not work and what you learned, and (3) how you use AI tools in your weekly marketing workflow today.
