Job summary

Talcom BV in the Netherlands is expanding its team with three Configuration Engineers to tailor a maritime traffic management SaaS platform for customers. You will translate requirements into application settings, configure modules, run tests and support the deployment lifecycle.

The role emphasizes configuring existing functionality rather than developing new software, with travel to customer sites within the Netherlands and abroad and collaboration with architects, engineers and project

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
Experience with structured testing and configuring software products.
Familiarity with XML, JSON, YAML, SQL, log analysis and basic scripting.
Working knowledge of Linux and networking.
Ability to explain system behavior to users and engineers.
Dutch and English (spoken and written).
Willingness to travel ~20% to customer sites in the Netherlands and abroad.
Experience with maritime or radar/tracking tech is a plus ( ISTQB certification is advantageous).

Responsibilities

Translate requirements into application settings and configurations.
Configure modules including alarms, traffic information, user permissions, and sensor data.
Maintain and document the configuration baseline.
Design and execute functional tests.
Prepare and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
Collaborate with software engineers and specialists to resolve findings and validate fixes.
Support operators and capture knowledge in templates, test sets, and documentation.
