Job summary

Tecwave B.V., a Netherlands-based specialist in electrical systems and automation for maritime applications, is seeking a Software Engineer to develop PLC-based control systems for bow thruster, ship control and alarm modules.

You will test, modify, and document software, work across disciplines, travel internationally as needed, and provide client guidance on software-related issues. This role offers opportunities for professional growth within a stable, innovative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial automation.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and Codesys 3.5.
• Knowledge of C, VBScript, FBD/Ladder, and SCL.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally.
• Fluent in Dutch, German and English.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC control systems for custom and standard products.
• Test, modify, and approve software and control systems.
• Monitor progress and resolve issues independently.
• Document modifications and transfer project information to management.
• Support service requests and resolve software malfunctions.
• Report and record solutions in internal documentation.
• Advise clients on software-related issues.
