Job summary

Van Oord seeks a Ships Electronical Engineer to maintain and optimize electrical and automation systems on our dredging vessels, on a 5-weeks-on/off rotation. You will work with the Chief Engineer to keep the ship's logs and daily reports up to date.

The role requires an engineering qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, at least 3 years in a similar role, and strong knowledge of PLCs and network technologies. EU work permission is required; an ETO license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Intermediate or higher vocational qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience as First Electrician or similar role.
• Experience with PLCs, networks, and remote connection technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems on board ships.
• Supporting documentation, logbooks and toolbox meetings.
• Contributing to safety through drills, inspections and compliance.
• Exploring knowledge in automation, electrical drives and shipboard systems.
