Job summary

U-People is seeking an Interior Engineer with experience in joinery and accommodation systems for challenging shipbuilding projects in the Netherlands. You will prepare technical specifications, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure compliance with standards.

The role involves performing technical calculations, supporting FATs, and ensuring interior systems integrate seamlessly into the ship design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience in technical specifications for joinery and accommodation systems, preferably in shipbuilding.
• Good knowledge of joinery materials, insulation, and industry standards.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with suppliers, subcontractors, and engineering teams.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications for joinery, accommodation, and insulation systems.
• Ensure designs meet contractual requirements, regulations, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors on technical requirements.
• Support procurement with material selection and supplier coordination.
• Ensure interior systems are properly integrated into the ship design.
• Perform technical calculations and participate in design reviews.
• Provide technical support to production teams.
• Participate in quality inspections and FAT.
