This company is a global Leiden-based biotech company with a focus on developing innovative antisense oligonucleotide therapies for rare neurological disorders.

We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Technician (BSc) to help expand our innovative drug discovery for devastating neurological disorders, applying state-of-the-art technologies and chemistries. We offer ~1000 m2 of lab space attractively combining molecular biology and oligochemistry & manufacturing units with well-maintained equipment. This company is a small, dynamic, and efficient organisation (currently 40 employees) and our scientists are positive and dedicated with continued focus on science and quality. They have a long track record of academic collaborations and publications in the field of antisense oligonucleotides for neuromuscular disorders, and genuinely value strong alliances with patient organisations.

Your key responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manufacturing of oligonucleotides (synthesis, purification and analysis);
• Implement precision chemistry and optimize related procedures;
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment;
• Proper documentation of results.

Your profile:

• A BSc degree in organic chemistry OR MLO4 (No Master degree);
• Familiarity with solid phase synthesis, HPLC purification, LC-MS analysis and/or UV-Vis spectrophotometry is preferred;
• High affinity to technical equipment;
• Excellent problem solving skills;
• Structured and highly organised person;
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English;
• A team player with a pro-active attitude.

What do we offer?

• Salary between €2750 – €4250 gross based on 40 hours a week;
• 25 vacation days per year;
• Contract for 6 months with prospect of extension and permanent contract;
