Job summary

AME (Applied Micro Electronics) in Eindhoven, Netherlands, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive the industrialization of new products and ensure readiness for production on the shop floor.

You will act as the Operations representative in product development, collaborating with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Engineers to define optimized production processes and lead DFx and PFMEA sessions for successful ramp-up.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, NPI, or a similar engineering environment.
• Experience with preparing and transferring products into production.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt experience.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing and risk analysis (PFMEA).
• Able to work independently and with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Operations representative in product development projects and support the successful industrialization of new products.
• Assess customer requirements, technical specs, and project deliverables from a manufacturing feasibility, risk, and industrialization perspective.
• Organize and drive key industrialization activities; DFx sessions, PFMEA, and follow-up on actions and risks.
• Define and optimize the production process including workflows, line balancing, control plans, work instructions, tooling usage, and packaging methods.
• Develop and execute the NPI strategy to validate and qualify manufacturing processes before production ramp-up.
• Monitor industrialization progress and provide updates to project teams and stakeholders.
• Provide second-line engineering support, including 8D problem solving and helping resolve product/process issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, change management, and cost estimation throughout the lifecycle.
• Guide junior engineers and trainees and review technical documentation when needed.

Job description

At AME, we design and manufacture innovative, sustainable, and high-quality products by combining electronics, mechanics, software, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you play a key role in bringing new products from development into production. You are responsible for the industrialization process, from identifying manufacturing risks at an early stage through to qualifying the final production process, and act as the representative of the Operations department within product development projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Tooling Development Engineers, Project Buyers, Supply Chain, and production colleagues, you ensure that products and manufacturing processes are ready for successful introduction into the factory.

What you’ll do

• Support manufacturing with second-line engineering support, including 8D problem-solving, and help resolve product and process-related issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, change management, cost estimations, and technical decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
• Guide Junior Engineers and Trainees and review technical documentation when needed.

Who are you?

• BSc or MSc in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, NPI, or a similar engineering environment.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; at least a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing, process risk analysis, and tools such as PFMEA and Control Plans.
• Able to work independently on most tasks while seeking support when facing more complex challenges.
• Comfortable working in project-based environments and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Process-focused, analytical, hands-on, and able to turn technical requirements into practical manufacturing solutions.

• Represent Operations and have a direct impact on how products are manufactured.
