Job summary

OLYX in Amsterdam is seeking a Desk Manager - APAC to lead the physical biofuels desk from our Keizersgracht HQ. You will own commercial performance and coach a small team of brokers across APAC and Europe.

You will originate and close transactions in FAME, HVO, ethanol and related products, manage key accounts, and drive market development while maintaining high standards of integrity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a commercial role within physical biofuels.
• Fluent in Mandarin and excellent English; additional Asian languages are a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• At least two years of people-leadership experience in a commercial or trading setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the brokers covering the APAC physical market while supporting the expansion of the desk and its market presence.
• Own the desk's targets and translate them into clear individual objectives; manage performance and career development.
• Originate, structure, negotiate, and mediate physical biofuel transactions across APAC and Europe; oversee high-value deals.
• Expand and deepen OLYX's relationships across Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe; build strategic partnerships.
• Maintain pricing intelligence and monitor trade flows, regulatory developments and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with other desks and with compliance, operations, and finance to move deals from agreement to invoice.
