Job summary

AURELIUS Growth is expanding its Benelux operations and seeks a Managing Director to lead buy & build investments from strategy through holding, with full end‑to‑end responsibility. You will guide on‑site teams, drive value creation, and coordinate with portfolio companies and holding entities across the investment lifecycle.

The role demands extensive travel, a hands‑on leadership style, and a clear track record in private equity, strategic transformation, and finance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading end‑to‑end investments with P&L ownership.
• Proven track record in small/mid‑cap private equity.
• Strong background in transformation work from strategy consulting.
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking with decisive, hands‑on execution.
• University degree in business, science, or engineering; understands commercial, financial and technical issues.
• Cost consciousness, commercial acumen, execution strength, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full end‑to‑end responsibility for AURELIUS Growth investments during the holding period.
• Support investment team during execution of initial transactions across Strategy and Commercial Due Diligence.
• Lead on‑site management teams and act as the contact for operational and strategic matters at portfolio companies and holding level.
• Define strategy, team structure, and on‑the‑ground efficiency measures for each investment.
• Steer workstreams and optimize financing structures in collaboration with the Growth team.
• Accompany companies through the exit process at the end of the holding period; extensive travel required.

As we begin to expand our AURELIUS Growth operations in Benelux, we are seeking leaders to join us as Managing Director (m/f/d) – Buy & Build | Value Creation | Portfolio Management

In the role of Managing Director, you take full end‑to‑end responsibility for AURELIUS Growth’s investments throughout the entire holding period. You support colleagues in the investment team during execution of the initial transactions across Strategy and Commercial Due Diligence, and from acquisition onward you assume comprehensive operational and strategic responsibility for the success of these investments. You lead the on‑site management teams and serve as the point of contact for all operational and strategic matters, both for the management of the portfolio companies and at the holding level. In your role, you define the strategy, the team, and on‑the‑ground efficiency measures. In addition, you steer the workstreams and, together with the AURELIUS Growth team, optimize the financing structure of each investment. You are committed to competitiveness, profitability, and the sustainable increase of enterprise value, and you will also successfully accompany the companies through the exit process at the end of the holding period. The role involves extensive travel; relocation is not required.

Key Experiences & Qualifications

• You are an experienced, pragmatic leader with several years of broad, hands‑on operational responsibility as Managing Director or CEO in a mid‑cap environment, with P&L responsibility of at least an eight‑figure amount.
• You have relevant experience in the small/mid‑cap private equity market and value an entrepreneurial way of working as well as a high energy, intensive environment.
• You developed your extensive expertise in systematic and conceptual transformation work in a strategy consulting firm.
• You are outstanding in analytical and conceptual thinking, and you bring confidence, decisiveness, and a strong hands‑on mentality.
• In addition to a university degree in business, science, or engineering, you understand the key commercial, financial, and technical issues.
• A strong cost consciousness, commercial acumen, execution strength, and strong communication skills round out your profile.
