Job summary

Container Centralen in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, seeks a seasoned Manager Depot & Transport to lead the European depot and transport network. You will drive operational performance, cost efficiency and continuous development across ~50 depot locations and multiple transport partners.

Reporting to the COO, you will manage four direct reports, collaborate with Sales, Finance and Legal, and lead initiatives to improve service levels and cost effectiveness in a dynamic European environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in logistics, transport, depot or network operations within an international, multi-site environment.
• Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PL) and driving performance through contracts, SLAs and KPIs.
• Strong experience in supplier and contract management, including commercial negotiations and performance management.
• Demonstrated experience in improving operational performance through process standardisation and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of transport operations, network optimisation and performance management.

Job description

The Manager Depot & Transport is responsible for the operational performance, cost efficiency and continuous development of Container Centralen's European depot and transport network.

The role ensures reliable execution across approximately fifty external depot locations and multiple transport partners by combining operational excellence, performance management and strong partner leadership.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead a team of four direct reports and work closely with the Manager Availability & S&OP and the wider Operations Leadership Team. You will also collaborate closely with Sales Management and Business Development, supporting pilots and tests around new commercial and operational initiatives. Strong alignment with Finance & Control and Legal is equally important, particularly in relation to business cases, contracts and partner management.

Together, you will translate commercial and operational priorities into reliable execution while continuously improving network performance, service levels and cost efficiency.
