Job summary

HY Legal & Services Ltd. is seeking a Legal Counsel / Legal Manager to support an international client in Europe.

You will draft, review and negotiate procurement, warehousing and distribution contracts, and advise internal teams on compliance and commercial risk. The role requires collaboration with regional and global legal colleagues to standardize templates and processes, manage external counsel, and ensure scalable operations.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of supply chain-related agreements, with primary focus on procurement contracts (e.g., warehousing, transportation, last-mile delivery) and sales/customer service agreements.
• Provide timely, practical, and commercially sound legal advice to internal stakeholders in procurement, logistics, operations, and commercial teams across Europe.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with supply chain activities, including data privacy (GDPR), consumer protection, and local commercial laws.
• Collaborate with regional and global legal colleagues to align on standards, share best practices, and implement scalable legal processes.
• Support the development and maintenance of standardized contract templates and internal legal playbooks to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Liaise with external counsel when necessary and manage external legal spend effectively.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Law; qualified lawyer status (admitted to practice) preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in an in-house legal department or international law firm, with exposure to commercial contracts, supply chain, logistics, e-commerce, or technology sectors.
• Technical Skills: Strong command of contract law and commercial transaction principles; proven ability to independently draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multicultural, matrixed organization; high integrity and attention to detail.

Languages

• English: Fluent - must be able to draft contracts and conduct negotiations in English as the primary working language.
• Mandarin Chinese: Fluent - must be able to communicate in Mandarin Chinese
• Other European Languages: Knowledge of French, Dutch, Polish, Czech or other EU languages is a distinct advantage.
