Job summary

Jaz in the City Amsterdam is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our technical crew, manage preventive and corrective maintenance, and oversee installations, inspections and renovations.

You will coach and inspire a team, set priorities, and ensure smooth operations while advancing our sustainability, safety and guest experience. Fluent Dutch and English are required, with at least five years in a technical or maintenance role, preferably in hospitality, and a hands-on, solution-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in a technical or maintenance department.
• Experience leading and coaching a technical team.
• Knowledge of installations, maintenance and building management.
• Experience with climate installations is a plus.
• Strong Dutch and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and inspire the technical team to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, installations and renovations.
• Coordinate inspections, projects and supplier/contractor work across departments.
• Ensure safety, sustainability and high hospitality standards behind the scenes.
