Job summary

Jaz in the City Amsterdam seeks an enthusiastic Engineer to maintain and improve hotel technical installations. You will handle preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults, inspections and installations, and collaborate with the Technical Manager and hotel team to resolve issues promptly.

You are hands-on, proactive, and enjoy solving problems with a service-minded approach, contributing to guest experience and safety across the property.

Qualifications

• Technical education or relevant technical background.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a technical, engineering or maintenance role.
• Knowledge of technical installations, maintenance and building-related systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical faults.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing or other building installations.
• Experience with complex climate and HVAC installations is a big plus.
• Hands-on, proactive and able to set the right priorities.
• Can work independently but also enjoy being part of a technical team.
• Service-minded attitude and understand that technical support directly contributes to the guest experience.
• Comfortable working with internal departments, suppliers, contractors and external partners.
• Available fulltime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure hotel technical systems run smoothly.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, install and implement technical improvements.
• Work with the Technical Manager and hotel team to identify issues and resolve them safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of safety, sustainability and quality in all technical activities.
• Contribute to keeping Jaz in great shape and enhancing guest experience.
