Orange Quarter is seeking an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join our technology team in Amsterdam. You will be the second QA hire and help shape testing across internal backend systems.

You will own integration, system and feature testing, working with developers, product and business stakeholders to ensure quality from design to deployment. This role emphasizes business impact and continuous QA improvement, with opportunities to introduce automation.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a QA Engineer, Test Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer.
• Strong experience with backend systems and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with system, integration and feature testing.
• Good understanding of APIs, databases and data flows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
• Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Someone who thinks about business outcomes, not just technical functionality.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join the technology team of a well-established and highly recognised Dutch business.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small technology function where you can make a genuine impact. You will be the second QA hire in the business, working alongside an existing QA colleague and taking a leading role in the testing and quality of the company's internal backend systems.

This isn't a role where QA simply means finding bugs at the end of a development cycle. We are looking for someone who understands the wider business impact of quality: someone who can look beyond whether a feature works technically and understand how a change affects internal processes, users, data and the solutions the business relies on.

You will take ownership of testing across integration, system and feature testing, while helping to establish and continuously improve QA practices across the technology function.
