WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The NIKE, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. The team creates premium and innovative brand stories, builds and enhances corporate reputation and brand equity, and engages audiences such as consumers, media, creators, athletes, investors, non-governmental organizations and Nike's own employees. The team focuses on information, inspiration and connection to accelerate the growth of NIKE, Inc. Communications employees ignite conversations, envision the possibilities, and influence and deliver new levels of creative and strategic thinking to advance the brand around the world.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Lead Professional Media Relations, Nordics to lead communications across the Nordic region, including The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. This strategic role sits within the Nordics Leadership Team and serves as a key communications partner to both the regional business and the broader EMEA Communications organization.

The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in either a corporate communications function or leading communications agency. They bring deep expertise across both internal and external communications, with the ability to shape narratives, influence stakeholders, protect and enhance reputation, and inspire employees through compelling storytelling.

This individual is highly collaborative, culturally fluent, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced matrix environment. They combine strategic thinking with strong execution and have a passion for driving impact through communication. A genuine love for sport and a deep understanding of the cultural role sport plays within society are essential. Experience living and working within the Nordic region is highly valued, and proficiency in Dutch is strongly preferred.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Extensive experience in communications, public relations, media relations or strategic communications.
  • Proven ability to lead both internal and external communications strategies within complex organizations.
  • Experience working in either a multinational corporate environment, agency environment, or both.
  • Strong executive communications and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences. Dutch language proficiency strongly preferred; additional Nordic languages are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing issues, reputation and crisis communications.
  • Strong understanding of the Nordic media landscape and cultural environment.
  • Ability to develop communication strategies that support both business priorities and employee engagement.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and experience influencing across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Strategic storyteller with the ability to translate business priorities into simple, compelling narratives.
  • Passion for sport, culture and the role brands can play within communities.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be part of the EMEA Communications team and report to the VP, EMEA Communications as serve as a member of the Communications and Nordics Leadership Team.

You will work closely with:

  • The Nordics General Manager and Leadership Team.
  • EMEA Communications colleagues across Business and Brand Communications.
  • Brand Marketing and functional leaders across the Nordics.
  • External agencies, media partners, creators, athletes and key stakeholders throughout the region.

This role requires strong partnership across functions and geographies to ensure a consistent, impactful and authentic voice for Nike throughout the Nordic marketplace.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will be responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that strengthen Nike's brand, reputation and employee engagement across the Nordics.

You will:

  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans aligned to business and brand priorities across the Nordic region.
  • Lead both internal and external communications programs, ensuring consistency of messaging and storytelling.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the Nordics Leadership Team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, industry influencers and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Brand teams to amplify marketplace initiatives, athlete stories, innovation and purpose-driven narratives.
  • Drive employee communications that engage, inspire and align teams around business priorities.
  • Protect and strengthen Nike's reputation through proactive issues management and strategic counsel.
  • Identify cultural insights, emerging trends and storytelling opportunities relevant to Nordic consumers and employees.
  • Support executive visibility and leadership communications across the region.
  • Manage agencies and communications partners to deliver measurable impact.
  • Foster authentic connections between Nike, sport communities, consumers and employees across the Nordics.
