Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in product development, design engineering, or product engineering.
• Strong 2D/3D CAD experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably aluminium extrusion.
• Experience evaluating technical feasibility and product costing.
• Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-focused with commercial awareness.
• Fluent in Dutch, English and German.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through to serial production.
• Support customers during early design and development stages.
• Translate customer requirements into technically feasible and commercially viable solutions.
• Assess manufacturability, technical risks and cost calculations.
• Act as the technical authority within customer and commercial discussions.

This position sits at the intersection of engineering, sales and manufacturing, acting as the technical lead throughout the entire customer development process. You will work directly with customers to develop innovative solutions, assess technical feasibility, and ensure successful implementation into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through to serial production
• Support customers during the early stages of product design and development
• Translate customer requirements into technically feasible and commercially viable solutions
• Assess manufacturability, technical risks and cost calculations
• Act as the technical authority within customer and commercial discussions
• Manage engineering activities, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Guide new products through implementation and first production runs
• Manage development and customer projects, coordinating internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and coach a CAD Designer
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience within product development, design engineering or product engineering
• Strong CAD experience (2D and 3D)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally aluminium extrusion
• Experience evaluating technical feasibility and product costing
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills
• Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
• Fluent Dutch, English and German
