Job summary

Shock Media B.V. is seeking a Lead System Engineer to guide a Linux-focused team of 4–6 engineers. You will design, deploy, and optimize complex hosting solutions while actively contributing as a team member. You’ll report to the CTO and help drive improvements in procedures, training, and client support.

The role blends leadership with hands-on technical work, emphasizing on-call duties and effective collaboration with Sales, PM, and R&D. A strong Linux background is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading small to mid-sized engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and open-source hosting technologies.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication.
• Able to design, set up, test and document new solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support colleagues in your team.
• Optimize existing solutions, technologies, and procedures.
• Conduct performance reviews and guidance meetings with HR.
• Support other team members as sparring partner or point of contact.
• Lead during changes, decision-making, and policy implementation.
