Job summary

Vinted is seeking a lead technical architect for VITA, our in-house platform for alerts and incident management. You will own architecture, on-call processes, and incident coordination across the engineering teams in a high-scale production environment.

You will guide the roadmap, engage with stakeholders, and mentor five engineers to elevate system design and reliability. This role blends technical leadership with product ownership and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting, building, and operating high-scale distributed systems in production.
• Experience owning distributed systems in production, from design to operation.
• On-call and responding to production incidents.
• Strong product mindset for developer tooling and measuring adoption.
• Understanding of observability: metrics, logs, traces and SLOs.
• Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to explain architectural risks to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team's technical direction: scope complex problems, design solutions and coordinate delivery across teams.
• Own incident management and on-call processes, and lead improvements to both the processes and the tooling.
• Eliminate alert fatigue across Vinted, grouping noisy alerts and establishing standards to make pages actionable.
• Advance practical AI in production, designing event pipelines for an AI incident agent to suggest root causes during outages.
• Define SLO and alert standards across Vinted and simplify tooling for teams.
• Define and track product and process metrics to show impact of work.
• Keep alert routing and critical systems reliable and simple to operate to move faster.
• Act as a technical mentor and multiplier for the engineering team.
