Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Lead Ground Segment Service Engineer at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The role oversees the complete service infrastructure requirements for IRIS², coordinating across operations, security, and ITIL, and ensuring successful integration with GOVSATCOM Hub and commercial operators.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering or equivalently Bachelor + 4 years of experience.
• Experience supervising end-to-end requirements lifecycle for service infrastructure.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-domain activities (operations, security, ITIL).
• Knowledge of service management frameworks (ITIL, TMF) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise end-to-end technical requirements lifecycle for IRIS² ground segment services.
• Coordinate with operations, security, and ITIL teams to ensure aligned processes.
• Prepare and support ground segment reviews, ensure interface definitions and milestones.
• Supervise implementation of service-infrastructure activities and verify interfaces.
• Liaise with system office for correct integration and validation of interfaces.
• Support ITIL-aligned OSS/BSS workflows and incident/change management.
• Monitor schedules, identify risks, and propose mitigations.
• Oversee changes and anomalies with traceable documentation.
• Assist integration with 5G Core architectures where applicable.
• Support lifecycle management with the European Commission.
