Job summary

Dow Jones Eco-Movement seeks a Lead Software Engineer to design, test, and build new functionalities for validated location data of charging stations worldwide. The role centers on advancing the OCPI-based API while migrating critical backend services from PHP to Go, under the Locations team.

You will work with GCP, MySQL/Postgres, Kubernetes, and Docker, and contribute to architecture, testing, and code quality in a hybrid office near Utrecht Central Station.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years hands-on Go or PHP (Laravel) development.
• Experience with testing and a focus on maintainable, readable code.
• Familiarity with PHP is a plus during the transition; Gitlab-CI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild critical components to support Go-based backend and ensure data integrity, performance and security.
• Upgrade internal tools and deliver clean, maintainable code with ownership of your deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to improve product, architecture, systems, and contribute to the technical roadmap.
