agap2 Netherlands is seeking a Lead Engineer to steer the technical direction of engineering projects across industries like Banking, FinTech, Telco, Retail, Sports, and Healthcare. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • 2+ years leading technical or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience in a high-tech manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience reviewing mechanical designs and technical documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software (CATIA or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Experience with mechanical analysis tools (such as ANSYS) is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.

  • Lead the technical aspects of development projects and translate customer requirements into effective engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers, Sales teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams across the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee engineering activities, review technical solutions, coordinate project execution and support budgeting and planning.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout all project phases and contribute to technical decision-making and continuous improvement.

The position

Key Responsibilities

You will lead the technical aspects of development projects, ensuring that customer requirements are translated into effective engineering solutions. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, Sales teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the complete project lifecycle—from proposal and concept development through execution and delivery. This position focuses on technical leadership rather than hands-on design. You will oversee engineering activities, review technical solutions, coordinate project execution, and support budgeting and planning.

  • Lead the technical execution of Solar Array development projects.
  • Translate customer requirements into feasible and effective technical solutions.
  • Support the development of new product solutions when existing technologies do not fully meet project requirements.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, technical documentation, and 3D models.
  • Support project budgeting by estimating engineering effort and technical costs.
  • Coordinate technical activities with Project Managers, Product Managers, Sales teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout all project phases.
  • Contribute to technical decision-making, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure technical quality, project compliance, and engineering best practices.
What You bring to the position
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading technical or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience in a high-tech manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience reviewing mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software (such as CATIA or equivalent) is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with mechanical analysis tools (such as ANSYS or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience preparing engineering effort estimates and technical cost calculations.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience in the aerospace or space industry is advantageous but not essential.
