Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) invites applications for the role of Lead End-to-End Performance Engineer within the Alpstar project. The successful candidate will drive end-to-end coherence and performance across space and ground segments, defining interfaces, performance budgets, and verification strategies.

You will work with diverse engineering disciplines and interface with end users to validate performance against requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with an additional four years of relevant professional experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain end-to-end performance requirements and budgets across space/ground interfaces.
  • Coordinate verification programs including data processing, calibration and validation.
  • Review requirements traceability and interfaces across system and subsystems.
  • Analyse performance of space-ground interfaces and support harmonisation with external systems.
  • Oversee end-to-end mission simulator, ground prototype processor and verification activities.
  • Supervise industrial progress on Alpstar Federated Layer and Generic Node development.
  • Monitor data flow from instruments to final data products and ensure tool availability.
  • Provide regular reporting to management, identify risks and mitigation actions.
