Job summary

Paires is hiring its first Data Engineer to own the database that powers our knowledge graph across deals, companies, and conversations. You will design, scale, and maintain a single source of truth for agents and outreach, enabling fast, correct data access.

You’ll work with Postgres, Supabase, pgvector, and AI tooling, building schemas, pipelines, and validation gates that keep data clean and queryable at scale.

Qualifications

• Have owned a database of companies, people, deals, or the conversations between them read by a live product or sales team.
• Strong in SQL and Python with real pipeline work (ingest, transform, dedup, enrich).
• Have caught bad data before it hurt the business and can explain how.
• Think in schemas and contracts, designing for future queries.
• Model entities and relationships at scale and keep connections queryable.
• Move fast with AI tooling and own outcomes.
• If you were the RevOps or growth person who owned CRM data and enrichment pipelines, we want to hear from you.
• Bonus: pgvector and embeddings, a knowledge graph modeled in a relational DB, and raw communications stores.

Responsibilities

• Own the database: design, scale, and maintain the memory that powers agents and outreach.
• Ensure end-to-end data quality: validation gates, dedup, entity resolution, provenance, monitoring.
• Maintain the communications layer: store emails and transcripts and link to the right entities.
• Build ingestion and enrichment pipelines at scale, focusing on cost and freshness.
• Develop the knowledge graph with entities and relationships in PostgreSQL with provenance.
• Provide a clean, unified data layer that supports campaigns, agents, and product features.
