Job summary

DATA4 seeks a senior Design Manager to lead end-to-end data centre and campus infrastructure design, ensuring alignment with Data4 standards and client requirements. You will own masterplanning through detailed design and coordinate CSA, MEP, controls, networks and power substation interfaces.

Reports to the head of design; you will drive design quality, optimize cost and schedule, and supervise a mid-size design team while engaging with customers and stakeholders to validate technical solutions

Qualifications

• Technical Design Engineering experience in data centres.
• Proven experience leading multi-discipline design scopes across campus and data hall infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery: Own high-level, low-level, and campus masterplanning design.
• Act as technical authority across CSA, MEP, controls, networks, and power substations.
• Interface with Client during sales cycle and delivery of the data centre.
• Lead the design permitting process with local authorities and secure permits.
• Ensure design quality and performance: maximize IT capacity, SLA compliance, and meet PUE/WUE targets.
• Develop and optimize technical solutions to balance cost, speed, and performance.
• Set equipment requirements with programme, delivery, and supply chain considerations.
• Validate vendor specifications and submittals.
• Support constructability and define construction methods.
• Coordinate commissioning readiness and ensure readiness protocols.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to drive technical validation and negotiations.
• Drive project alignment with project controls to meet schedule and cost.
