Job summary

ictjob.be in Amsterdam is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineer to help shape the next generation of AI-native IDE and agentic developer tooling. You will own prototypes, explore LLM-driven workflows, and translate ideas into working demos.

You will collaborate with international R&D teams, evaluate architectures, and design context-aware tooling that improves developer productivity. Based in Amsterdam or ready to relocate, you’ll thrive in a small, technically focused team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building IDEs or developer tooling.
• Strong ability to turn an early-stage idea into a working prototype.
• Experience communicating with international technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build working prototypes and demos for AI-native IDE and developer-tooling capabilities.
• Explore coding agents for context, tool use, planning, orchestration and verification.
• Design AI-assisted and agentic developer workflows to improve productivity and experience.
• Evaluate emerging IDE, LLM and agent architectures; translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Collaborate with universities, open-source communities and industry partners.
• Work with international R&D teams to shape technical direction and product capabilities.
