Job summary

Jumbo in Schiedam, Netherlands is seeking a Junior Technical Superintendent to start a career in technical coordination for our Heavy Lift vessels. You will learn maintenance standards, budgeting, surveys, vessel inspections and dry-dock preparation while working closely with experienced colleagues.

This entry role offers onboarding and a clear learning trajectory, exposure to ship management and offshore projects, and a path to advance to senior technical positions.

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 1–3 years of shipping, offshore or technical experience.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Willing to travel abroad and perform irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Support the technical management of assigned vessels according to policies and requirements.
• Provide day-to-day technical support under guidance of senior colleagues.
• Assist mobilizations and projects for Jumbo Shipping and Jumbo Offshore.
• Assist in ship dry‑docking preparations and follow‑up.
• Support vessel inspections, surveys and coordination with Class/Flag State.
• Help monitor vessel certification and statutory documentation.
• Assist in budgeting for assigned vessels.
• Support purchasing of spare parts and technical services cost‑effectively.
